Practice Models: Vision Vs. Medical
Discussion Outline:
In varying degrees, optometric practices are moving towards the “medical model” that expands the scope of services offered to include conditions like glaucoma, dry eye, or AMD.
At our upcoming dinner we’ll sit down for a good meal and discuss practice models. Our discussion points may include:
- What are the best ways to transition to the medical model, and what are the risks?
- How can we best work with each type of insurance plan?
- How might the anticipated shortage of OMDs impact private optometric practice?
- Will the medical model eventually be a necessity, given continued consolidation and competition on the retail side of the optometric business?
This dinner is open to doctors and 1-2 key staff Members per practice.
