Course Description:
This course will explain the difference between a contractor ordered recovery audit and a doctor order audit as well as what each will show the provider. In addition, it will present a detailed explanation on how to determine the level of office visits performed based on the patient health history, elements of exam and decision-making. Currently most doctors are either under-coding or over-coding their examinations and potentially leaving revenue on the table or exposing themselves to recovery audits resulting in costly refunds and penalties on improperly coded examinations and supplementary tests.
