COPE Course #: 83410-TD

Date & Time: Tuesday, March 14, 2023 | 9:00am  – 10:00am PT / 12:00pm – 1:00pm ET
Presented by: Jerry L. Robben, OD, Chief Optometric Physician, Bowden Eye and Associates

Course Description:

Dry Eye Disease is a chronic and progressive disease that is becoming more understood with on-going research and advancements. We will review the latest studies and the expanding definition of this disease. There are many factors that contribute to dry eye disease and many variations that patients can exhibit. We will break these down and identify their differences and then relate back how each can be tied together. This is to emphasize that a clinician needs to recognize all aspects of a patient’s dry eye disease in order to best address it. As with any chronic disease, early diagnosis is critical and there continue to be breakthroughs in diagnostics that we can use to do this. We will review them and update with the latest diagnostics used in clinics. Like the diagnostics we use to diagnose this disease, the treatments available continue to expand. A main goal is to emphasis that in order to truly treat dry eye disease, it takes a complete plan with the correct diagnosis, understanding and utilization of the most appropriate tools.
