A biologic is another word for a biopharmaceutical and is any pharmaceutical agent extracted from, or manufactured in a biological source. This includes autologous serum eye drops and amniotic membrane in the eye care field. Biologics are essential tools every optometrist and ophthalmologist must have available. This webinar will delve into biologic options including cryopreserved amniotic membrane, its applications, timing, indications and how to apply and remove them. It would be difficult to run a medical eye care practice today without providing patients access to biologics such as amniotic membrane.
