Why Glimpse Matters

On the wall of my home, between the bathroom and the laundry room hangs one of those growth charts. You know, the kind that kids love. Well, parents tend to enjoy it as well. At a glance, I can see how much my kids have grown over a period of time. For example, I can see that my 3-year-old was 2’9” in February of 2016 and over the period of about 13 months, he grew 6 inches to 3’3”. My 10-year-old grew about 1.5” between November of 2016 and March of 2017. Why bother with measuring, marking, comparing? We all know that our kids grow. We know that they are taller now than they were two or three years ago.
