Safety First:
Safety is always a concern when visiting any major city, and Nashville is no exception. Petty crimes, like pick-pockets, are concentrated in the tourist areas of Nashville. Here are a few things to think about:
  • Women: Don’t carry your purse on the streets at all. Get a mini-wallet case that will slide securely into a pocket instead. If you must bring a purse, make sure it is a cross-body style that clings close to you.
  • Men: Don’t carry a thick wallet in your back-pocket; they are super easy to lift. A simple money/ID clip – slipped into your front pocket, or zipper pocket, is the best way to go.
  • Cell phones are easily popped out of your hand if you are texting or navigating directions while walking and makes you an easy target. If you aren’t using your phone, make sure it’s tucked securely out of sight.
  • Always travel in groups – especially at night and never wander alone after dark. Be safe – take a taxi back to your hotel if you find yourself alone.
  • Stay aware of your surroundings!

Weather:
April – October is considered the best time of year to visit Nashville. In May, we should have springtime weather that’s comfortably warm and not overly humid. The average temperature range during May is 57 – 79 degrees.Cowboy boots & spurs

Clothing:
We recommend dressing for comfort! During our previous travels to Nashville, we did a lot of walking. You’ll find most of the entertainment neighborhoods are most easily navigated on foot, so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy!

Meeting Dress Code & Evening Event Attire:
The dress code for meeting and exhibit hall time is casual. Keep in mind the air conditioned meeting rooms can get chilly so bring a light sweater.

For our Welcome Reception at the Country Music Hall of Fame on Thursday evening, the dress code is casual. Jeans, polos, button up shirts and sundresses are perfect.Get into the full Nashville spirit at our Member Appreciation Dinner on Saturday evening with your best western wear! Cowboy hats, boots, Wrangler’s, plaid shirts, belt buckles or your favorite country-western accessories are encouraged!PECAA invests a lot of time and energy to ensure an authentic and fun experience for our Members. We encourage you to participate in each of our planned meeting and evening event activities. We’ve incorporated plenty of free time to break away and explore this fabulous city!
